In January, Picasso comes back to Madrid, and, on February 17th, he learns about Casagemas suicide in one of the Paris cafes. In Madrid, together with the Catalan writer Francisco de As?s Soler, they launch art magazine Arte Joven. In April, he returns to Barcelona after his trip to Malaga and Madrid. In May, Pablo travels to Paris for the second time where he stays at the old Casagemas' studio on Clichy Boulevard, 130, near Montmartre, and begins to write about nightlife of Paris. On June 24th, together with the Basque artist Francisco Iturino, Picasso exhibits for the first time in Paris at the gallery of Ambroise Vollard. He meets the poet Max Jacob. In fall, he returns to Barcelona, ??where he works on the paintings of his so-called Blue Period. For the first time he touches the topics of Harlequin and Motherhood.
