1953

On March 5, 1953, after Stalin's death, Louis Aragon asks the artist to draw a portrait of the Soviet leader for the communist newspaper Les Lettres françaises. In summer Picasso is working on a series of heads and busts of Françoise. In August he travels several times between Paris and Perpignan. He attends bullfights in Collioure and Perpignan. In September he returns to Vallauris. On September 30, Françoise Gilot leaves Picasso and moves with the children to Gay-Lussac Street in Paris.
