In June 1930, Picasso buys the Château de Boisgeloup in Normandy, where in the next year he will be engaged in sculpture, especially the large heads of Marie-Thérèse. He spends the summer in Juan-les-Pins to work on still lifes with sand series. In fall, he moves Marie-Thérèse to an apartment on La Boétie Street, No. 44, just a few steps away from his wife Olga.
