In February, Picasso starts his work on the The Charnel House painting, personifying the horrors of the war. The creation process is photographed by Christian Zervos. In spring he works on the settings for the Le Rendez-vous ballet, which premiered on the Champs ?lys?es. In July, Dora Maar travels to Antibes. He buys a house for her in Menerba. In November, at Fernand Mourlot studio Picasso is working on lithographic portraits of Fran?oise Gilot.
