In January 1937, Picasso creates a series of engravings and poems on the theme of The Dream and Lie of Franco. He moves to Grands-Augustins Street, 7, where he starts working from the beginning of May. April 26, the Germans start the aerial bombardment of Guernica. In May, starts working on the drafts of Guernica. Dora Maar photographs the entire process of creating the painting before it is installed in the Spanish pavilion of the international exhibition in Paris, which opens on July 12 of the same year. In the summer, he goes to Mougins with Dora. He chooses the final 100 sheets from all the engravings created for the Vollard Suite since 1930. In December, the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) buys Avignon girls.
