1907

In January, Picasso creates sketches and starts working on the iconic painting of The Young Ladies of Avignon. In July the painting is ready. Pablo meets the French artist Georges Braque. In March, by incident, Picasso buys Iberian sculptures stolen in the Louvre. In the summer he meets an art dealer and a publisher Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler who becomes one of Picasso's main dealers.

'The correct title is "Woman with Dice". It is a portrait of Picasso's wife, Jacqueline. There are two variants of this lithograph... one with black background and one with light gray background. The colors of the images are the same, but the backgrounds make startling differences.'
