In April 1907 Fernanda brought Raymonda, a 13-year-old girl from the nearby orphanage, to Bateau-Lavoir. The daughter of a prostitute, abandoned by her mother, the girl had stayed for a while under the care of a journalist until he threw her out explaining his act by her "lack of aptitude for music."
This is one of the portraits of Raymonda, which Picasso managed to draw during the three months the girl stayed with them. Upon finding in the studio pictures wherein Raymonda was posing nude, Fernanda sent her back to the orphanage. This happened to be one of the reasons for a temporary rift between Fernanda and Pablo.
I really liked your article, but please, how do you know the month (April) and the age of little Raymonde (13 years). I have another year (10 years) do you have official documents.
Thank you for your answer. 12 May

There are two variants of this lithograph... one with black background and one with light gray background. The colors of the images are the same, but the backgrounds make startling differences.'
