This painting has an interesting provenance. It was in the collection of Richard and Dorothy Rodgers (Mr. Rodgers was the famous composer, of course), and is now in the Sofia Imber Contemporary Art Museum in Caracas, Venezuela. For many years, the painting hung on the chimney breast of the Rodgerses` famous country house in Fairfield, Connecticut. Mrs. Rodgers, who was largely responsible for the design of the house, wrote a book about her experiences, titled "The House in My Head," among whose illustrations the painting can be seen in situ. 05 July
